Worried About Voiding Your Manufacturers Warranty?

Worried About Voiding Your Manufacturers Warranty?

A question we get asked often.. Would using Doc's Diesel filters or additives void my new truck's warranty?

Answer: No! All Doc's Diesel products meet or exceed manufacturer's warranty requirements.

Have you ever wondered whether using Doc's Diesel filters or additives would void the warranty on your new truck? Well, I'm here to assure you that it won't! All Doc's Diesel products will keep that manufacturer warranty in tact. In fact, an important piece of legislation was passed in 1975 that stated a dealer could not deny your warranty coverage just because you chose to have routine maintenance or repairs done by someone else, or to install aftermarket parts that are deemed acceptable by your state's specific legislation. Generally speaking, using reputable filters and additives does not void car warranties. Beware of other brands that "claim" they meet or exceed warranty, but don't! We go one step further to ENSURE our filters meet spec with our 3rd Party Testing.

Doc's Diesel understands why you might be concerned if your truck dealer, who may not be aware or properly informed about this act, warned you that aftermarket filters or additives would void your vehicle's warranty. However, under federal law, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) cannot void your warranty simply for using a product. They would have to prove that any damage they don't want to cover was caused by the use of that particular product. This consumer protection is granted by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

Aftermarket auto parts are parts that are not made by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). These parts are often more affordable than OEM parts, and they may also offer better performance or customization options. However, some car manufacturers used to discourage their use by voiding warranties or denying warranty coverage when aftermarket parts were installed. Fortunately, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act changed this unfair practice. It prevents manufacturers from forcing consumers to exclusively use OEM parts in order to maintain their warranty coverage. This means that you are free to use aftermarket parts, such as Doc's Diesel Filters, without worrying about voiding your warranty.

So, rest assured that using Doc's Diesel filters and additives will not void your warranty. Also remember to beware of other knockoffs claiming they meet warranty Requirements and have no proof to back it up! The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act has your back and ensures that you have the freedom to choose the products that best suit your needs and preferences without jeopardizing your warranty coverage.
