NEW! Doc's Ceramic Brake Pads, Drilled & Slotted Rotors, and More

We’re Hard Launching Doc's New Ceramic Brake Pads, Dilled & Slotted Rotors, and More!

Doc's Diesel is proud to be your one-stop destination for all things maintenance for your diesel truck. Now we're expanding our diesel brakes lineup even more. We've just launched a full brake system lineup with rotors and pads, engineered for the demands that diesel trucks actually put on a braking system. Choose from Ceramic Brake Pads, Drilled and Slotted Rotors, and Performance Brake Kits.

This isn't a generic parts catalog. Every product in this lineup was selected because diesel trucks are heavier, run hotter, and brake harder than the average vehicle, and most brake parts sold at retail were never designed with that in mind. Read more below to learn what's new, what makes each product different, and how to find the right setup for how you drive.

The Problem With Stock Brakes on a Diesel Truck

Brake dust, grease, shipping oils, and fluid residue don’t just look bad; they kill braking performance. Made for the hands that do the real work, Doc’s non-chlorinated Brake Parts Cleaner hits hard, cuts fast, and flashes off clean.

This fast-evaporating, solvent-based formula blasts away brake dust, grease, oil, and brake fluid with 0 oily film left behind. Once you spray it, it’s gone. Parts are clean. Dry. Ready for proper pad bedding and rotor contact.

The Doc's Rotor Lineup: Two Options, Every Application Covered

Doc’s carries two types of rotors; each one is built for a different use case, and every single one ships with full zinc plating as the standard. Not as an upgrade. Not as a cosmetic option. Zinc coating on every rotor, including the hat, face, and inner vanes, because bare cast iron starts surface rusting within 24–48 hours of moisture exposure.

Directional Drilled & Slotted Rotors

Doc's premium rotor. Engineered for max heat management.

This is where the rotor design gets specific. Directional rotors are vehicle-specific, sold as matched left/right pairs, with angled slots and asymmetric drill patterns engineered to work with the direction of rotor rotation, not against it.

As the rotor spins, the angled slots actively push air outward from the center, accelerating heat dissipation. Curved drill patterns follow the rotation arc, maximizing the exit velocity of gas and debris. Pad wear is more even because the swept contact is consistent across the full pad face on every revolution.

Under sustained towing load, repeated hard stops, or mountain driving, the difference between standard and directional rotors is measurable, cooler brake fluid temps, reduced fade, and longer pad and rotor life.

• Best for: Frequent towers, heavy haulers, mountain driving, performance builds

• Fitment: Left/right specific: confirm year, make, model, and trim before ordering

• Important: Installing a directional rotor on the wrong side defeats the airflow engineering entirely

High Carbon Rotors

Built for trucks under consistent, heavy daily loads.

Doc's high-carbon rotors are cast from a high-carbon alloy iron formula that fundamentally changes how the rotor handles heat. Instead of shedding heat through surface geometry like a drilled & slotted design, high carbon rotors absorb and store thermal energy across a wider temperature range before dissipating it, making them exceptionally resistant to warping under repeated heavy braking cycles.

They run quieter than drilled & slotted rotors and are specifically engineered for fleet vehicles, commercial trucks, and any diesel that sees consistent heavy towing as a daily reality rather than a weekend activity.

• Best for: Work trucks under daily heavy load, fleet vehicles, consistent flat-terrain hauling
• Pairs with: Semi-metallic pads: high carbon rotors need an aggressive compound to reach operating potential
• Important: Do not pair with ceramic pads: the friction mismatch undercuts rotor performance and risks glazing under load

The Doc's Pad Lineup: Ceramic and Semi-Metallic

Two pad compounds. Each one is purpose-matched to a specific driving profile and rotor type. Neither one is better in the abstract; the right pad is the one that fits how your truck actually gets used.

Premium Ceramic Brake Pads

Daily diesel driving done right.

Doc's ceramic pads are engineered for the daily-driven diesel, quiet, clean, consistent, and easy on rotors. The ceramic compound absorbs vibration before it becomes noise, produces significantly less brake dust than semi-metallic compounds, and delivers a smooth, predictable pedal feel in all weather conditions.

They're designed for light-duty diesel trucks that see regular driving, occasional towing, and real-world conditions, not extreme sustained heat. For that use case, ceramic pads are the smarter, lower-maintenance choice.

• Best for: Daily drivers, commuter trucks, light-to-moderate towing

• Pairs with: Standard or Directional Drilled & Slotted Rotors

• Do not pair with: High Carbon Rotors: friction and heat range mismatch

• Key benefits: Quiet operation, low dust, rotor-friendly, consistent in all weather

Semi-Metallic Brake Pads

Maximum bite. Built for trucks that work.

Semi-metallic pads have a higher friction coefficient than ceramic, which means a stronger bite under load and superior heat handling during repeated hard stops. The metallic compound transfers heat into the rotor efficiently, keeping energy moving through the system instead of building up in the pad, where it causes fade and glazing.

More dust and slightly more noise at cold temperatures are the trade-offs. For a daily driver, those trade-offs matter. For a work truck that tows heavy, runs grades, or brakes hard on a regular basis, they don't, and the performance difference under load is significant.

Best for: Heavy towing, hard braking cycles, mountain grades, fleet use

• Pairs with: High Carbon Rotors (required), or Directional D&S Rotors

• Key benefits: Strong bite, excellent heat transfer, built for sustained load

How to Pick the Right Combo for Your Truck

Rotors and pads work as a system. Matching them correctly is the difference between a brake upgrade that performs and one that underdelivers. Doc's recommends two proven combinations:

COMBO A: Performance & Daily Comfort

Drilled & Slotted Rotors + Ceramic Pads

• Daily driver who tows occasionally or seasonally

• Runs mountain passes, steep grades, or mixed terrain

• Wants clean wheels, quiet braking, and a premium ride

• Performance-focused build wanting aggressive rotor look with daily comfort

COMBO B: Heavy Duty & Long-Term Durability

High Carbon Rotors + Semi-Metallic Pads

• Work truck under consistent heavy towing load — every day

• Fleet vehicle or commercial use needing maximum service life

• Flat-terrain hauler: jobsite, ranch, or regular trailer runs

• Owner who wants set-it-and-forget-it reliability under real load
